Education to be complete must have five elements.
Divine Buds School as the name suggests offers a holistic approach to education-not only with a view to incorporating perspectives that are global, curricula that follow international formats and a campus that brings together students from across the globe, but also for completeness with which it approached the idea of education.
Since ancient times we have sought to evolve as a society. This desire to grow together has inevitably expressed itself in our quest for ways of being and doing that make our quest for ways of being and doing that make our interactions more fluid. Through traditions, through culture, through knowledge. And through an appreciation for ways of being that are other than ours.
Over the ages, there has been an attempt to address this need, from the ancient Indian concept of the Chatushasti Kala - the 64 arts that were important for men & women to be accomplished in, ranging from dancing and singing to cooking, the use of weapons, engineering, dressing & elephant riding, among others-to the finishing schools of the western world. The most recent and celebrated of these have been the French finishing schools of Switzerland. In fact, French was held to be the most important language of diplomacy and international relations from the beginning of the 20th century. While the idea of ‘finishing’ has undergone drastic changes in what it means today, school takes its name from this French legacy as a tribute of sorts, and to celebrate the international identity of the school along with our focus on imparting education that also addresses the demand of sharing well rounded personalities and the inculcation of cultural sensitivities, rather than merely imparting information. However, at its core, the school strikes a balance between a global perspective and the awareness of an ancient Indian legacy of cultural holism.
